Diatribe
Despite the picture that Mindy tries to portray by piecing individual lines out of
several emails together to create the message she wants to convey - the truth
about the end of the last game of season was well documented Sunday after
the Iowa game (the second to the last game) by the email below.
As you can see I didn't "Cancel" the season. We were forfeited on our last
game of the season. I tried to create some sort of event for the players, but it
just wasn't possible, so I cancelled the stadium, officials, volunteers etc.

Subject: Storm Season Status - Options
I had some questions today concerning the options that were explored for our
final home game, so in case others were wondering, I thought I’d elaborate.
The planned opponent for our last home game is Shreveport . They will not be
making the trip. Some of the options we looked at included getting Iowa here
(they have a bye this week) getting a combined Shreveport/Baton Rouge team
here, playing a blue/white inter squad game supplemented by retired players or
playing a mixed, coed game.
All of these options would have cost us more time, money and energy to pull off
than we had, obviously, money being the biggest obstacle. There was no
interest in spending more money to create a replacement game/event when the
players (about 75% of them) were almost $2K in arrears. Then last week, Ed
informed me he would not secure the gap until the fundraising occurred, so no
money was available to pursue an alternate plan for this week.
Hope this helps explain how we got here.
Any other questions – give me a call.
