Mindy booked a fundraiser using the Storm's name with Jim Hull at Sidekicks
without permission from, knowledge of, or notification to Nance. Nance was
alerted to this and the concern was that Mindy intended to keep the money for
the Diatribe. The following email was sent to the team. This was followed by
another email directly to her warning her NOT to use the Storm's name without
permission. On the Friday the fundraiser was to occur, she sent an email to
Sidekicks stating that her mother was sick and that we would have to cancel the
fundraiser. I do not know if there were other fundraisers that I was not made
aware of in which she used the Storm's name for her own benefit prior to
establishing her own team.
The following email was sent to the team from Nance on July 13, 2007
I noticed that the league listed our Detroit game tomorrow as a 2-0 loss. But they
still haven't posted the press release that we completed last week. I don't know
what the deal is, but as soon as it's posted on the league site - I'll update ours.
Just a reminder that you must sign up to do projects and fund raisers. It's not a big
deal - just let me know what you're doing. You can not do a fundraiser without
talking to me first and you can not keep the money from the fundraiser, it must be
turned over to the team.
The current projects/fundraiser we're working on now are:
1. T-shirts
2. Year end party
3. Women's Extreme Sports Challenge
4. Women's Extreme Sports Calander
5. Golf Tournament with Guest Speaker
If you want to volunteer - let me know - proceeds can go to 2007 or 2008 - you can
pick. The rookies are participating, so depending on the numbers - at least some of
the money will be going to 2008.
